TYPES OF ENERGY RESEARCH

Thursday, November 14th

To develop our game idea further, we must first research the topic of energy, as what we know from general knowledge is not enough to design a game.

When we were talking about this game idea, we were talking about Kinetic types of energy: Mechanical, Thermal, Sound, Electrical and Radiant. The reason we don't want to involve potential energy is because it would be too complicated for a classroom or playground.

As I've never really been friends with physics, I decided to watch a few videos from this series that explain the whole concept of kinetic energy. The videos are very theoretical and they got me bored at a point, so maybe if we try to direct this game idea towards an educational game, people could learn physics and science in a different way, engaging, rather than just staring at a laptop screen or listening to a teacher talk. We could even do this in VR, which would allow for an extremely immersive experience, and people would be able to understand physics much better.

Watching these videos, I was able to understand to a certain level the types of energy and how they work, enough to allow us to progress in the design of the game.
