Prototypes

Prototype 1.0 - 29/11/18

Today, James and I made the first prototype! I have been able to see a glimpse to the game and I am excited.

To make this, we created a Unit Star, like the Sun. Based on the Colour Table that I made, the Unit Star has a mass of 1, a temperature of 7000 K and is white. All the other stars will be created in comparison with this one. If a star is smaller, it will have a lower mass. If it’s hotter, it will have another colour.

Notes:

Even though I like what I see, there are some things I want to change. I want to make the colours change smoothly, rather than suddenly, I would like to have to size and colour change separately, rather then being synchronised, and I would like it to be 3D, so that the player can wonder around and observe the setting.

Prototype 2.0 - 03/12/18

Today, James made a new prototype. As I decided to have a more artsy approach to the game, and have the player use the sky as his canvas, James made a prototype that explains how this would work.

I really like it and I think it’s getting really close to what I want the game to be.

Mechanics 2.0

Before making the first prototype, I thought it would be better if the player would play with physics, but now that I saw how it works, I don’t want that anymore, because it’s not too complicated, but
