Artwork Development
To make sure the game impacts the player the way I want, I tried many different looks.
The first thing I said I wanted to do was something small, that would just give a glance at the universe, so I started with an aurora. For one whole day, I tried to make it look the way I wanted, but didn’t manage to. I eventually found the solution, which took 2 seconds.

After that, I said I should try something bigger, so I decided to work on a nebulae and see how the style looks like I followed one of Lady Rapid’s tutorial and got a final good look. Then, I tried to create a star with the same visual style. Again, the result was alright. Nothing impressive, or outstanding.

Artwork Development: Welcome
After the Peer Presentations on Friday, where it has been suggested again that I use a watercolour visual style, I decided it would be worth giving it a try. In the beginning, I wanted to create the background, or clouds. For this, I tried different brushes and then created a couple of custom texture brushes to give the look of actual watercolour. I didn’t like how it looked, so I had to get rid of this too.

After some more consideration, I decided to use the Photoshop Legacy Watercolour Brushes to see what I could get from there. This was a good idea, because the final result appealed to me and I decided on this kind of style. After this, I created some more artwork with the same visual style. The compilation of brushes used can be found as WatercolorBrushes.abr.
